This page is dedicated to my progress with the Lancaster Diamond Sampler Quilt as published by Ann Holte Quilting (http://www.annholtequilting.com/). With the owner's permission, Ann Holte developed a template to use to cut out this unusual diamond shape.
I fell in love with this quilt attributed to the Brubaker/Keller Familes in the Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum during March 2010. The Quilt and Textile Museum was a recommended visit for those attending the AQS Lancaster Quilt Show.
This quilt is one of a group of three quilts made in Warwick Township, (northern) Lancaster County, PA, in the mid- to late-1800’s. When viewing the quilts it is obvious that they shared fabric and patterns. While they worked together, each quilt is distinctly the work of its own quilter.
Two of the quilts (the Bucher quilts) can be viewed in the book Quilting Traditions: Pieces from the Past by Trish Herr.
In February 2011 there was a sew along for the square quilt. You can purchase a pattern from Sentimental Stitches for the square quilt. They call it "A Mother's Gift".

Here I am during my FIRST visit to the museum. I spent two hours (or more) with my love. :) [I went back a second time and spent another couple hours photographing and admiring, and soaking in the beauty of this quilt, and its two 'sister' quilts.]

* 20 short half-diamond blocks (top/bottom)
* 12 long half-diamond blocks (left/right)
* 172 corner stone diamonds
